The Chinese Type 77 was another indigenous vehicle design by China. Thou looking similar to vehicles from other nations, it shares many automotive parts of the earlier Type 63 APC. Despite being an ugly duckling, it served/serves the PLA in two roles:

it has a crew of two, whilst the rear section can carry up to 16 troops. They have access to periscopes in the roof and firing ports with which to use their personal arms to fire from. They accesses the vehicle by a right hand door and roof hatches. The vehicle is fully amphibious and powered in the water by two rear propellers. It uses a water cooled diesel engine generating 400hp.

The Chinese Type 77 Tractor Unit

Used to carry & tow artillery howitzers on its roof by them being pushed or pulled up three ramps at the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle can be used as an ambulance, command post and re-supply vehicle. The vehicle is fully amphibious and powered in the water by two rear propellers. It uses a water cooled diesel engine generating 400hp.
