The German MAN TGA Tank Transporter was bought by the Australian Army in preparation for the expected delivery to the Australian Diggers of the US M1A1 and M88A2 in 2007 and deliveries started  in 2006. The tractor unit is built by German Firm MAN and the associated semi trailer was designed and built by Drake Trailers.

The cab seats the driver and one passenger and is fitted with a sleeper bunk. The vehicle is powered by a 530hp turbocharged diesel engine and gives a top road speed  of 90 km/h, when fully loaded.
