The Japanese Type 3 Medium Tank aka the Chi-Nu

Japanese Type 3 Medium Tank aka the Chi-Nu

Japanese Type 3 Medium Tank aka the Chi-Nu, was the last to be developed & manufactured in Japan during World War 2 (around 1944). It never saw action in Asia due to the lack of shipping and never left Japan, so only a few were produced.

Based on a modified Type 1 hull, the Type 3 featured a new turret housing a larger 75mm main gun. Prototypes of the Type 4 were also produced with a 75mm main gun which had a longer hull with more road wheels, however never entered production.
