The US Navistar International 7000 truck family is based on a successful Navistar commercial lorry, which makes it attractive to foreign operates as its easy to lay hands on spare parts and maintain.
It comes in a variety of configuration – 4×2, 4×4, 6×4 and 6×6. This means the vehicle can be used as a non armoured troop carrier, cargo transporter or fuel truck. Its equipped with an International DT 466 diesel engine and can use a variety of diesel engines from 270 to 330hp. The cab can be fitted with appliqué armour.

In 2005, the US Army ordered 2900 vehicles for the Afghan National Army and Iraqi Ministry of Defence and an additional order of 7,000 was added in 2008. The Canadian Forces Land Force Command has adopted the Navistar Defence LLC Medium Logistics truck and designated it the Medium Support Vehicle System (MSVS). 1,300 units will replace the MLVW fleet by June 2010.
