The French 155mm Mk F3 Self Propelled Gun

The French 155mm Mk F3 Self Propelled Gun is a 155mm main gun mounted on a French AMX-13 light tank hull, which were modified to accommodate the main gun. The vehicle is not fitted with a superstructure or traversable turret, so the gun is manually elevated and traverse is limited by the elevation. HE rounds have a top range of just over 20km.

It uses many of the same automotive components of the AMX-13, which include:

Engine: Sofan model 8Gxb 8 cylinder petrol generating 250hp
Speed: road 60km/h
Range: 300km
Suspension: Torsion bar

Up-grades for a new engine are available. The vehicle requires 10 crewman, 2 with the vehicle and 8 travel in a 6×6 truck which carries 25 rounds and charges. The vehicle was developed in the 1950’s and was exported due to cost and its light weight, however it offered no protection to the crew.
