Review of the Tamiya Merkava model tank
This Tamiya kit was cheap at £13 and very basic. It had hardly any work to do to the hull and a few bits to the turret.
It doesn’t really do anything except the turret moves.
The only challenge was bending the plastic replicated towropes, which bent round the rear of the turret and storage rack, which I snapped on one corner!
Using Tamiya Acrylic paints and my Revell air-compressor and spray gun, I used Desert Yellow (XF-59) on the turret and hull.
I painted with a fine brush Flat Black (XF-1) on the other parts, like road wheels, tracks and MG’s etc.
I used Khaki (XF-49) for the crewman and the folded up stretcher on the rear, which I used dark copper (XF-29) to do its handles and the shovel on the side of the turret.
I used Humbrol black Enamel (88) to get the flat look and I think it looks really good.
