With the deployable bridge removed, the M60A1 vehicle is then driven up to a mine field where two Mine Clearing Line AKA MICLICS, are attached and fired from the vehicle across the minefield, detonating the mines and providing a cleared lane for vehicles to cross. When a number of lanes are cleared, they are spaced at least 100 meters apart to reduce enemy artillery effects.
