Review of the Tamiya Sherman model tank

After building a number of non-Tamiya kits, I had forgotten how trouble free they were and how smoothly their construction was.
Until I bought this model, I had always purchased the big-boxed kits and not valuing the small-boxed 1/35th scale models. But at £15 I thought I would give one a go and was very pleasantly surprised with this model.
Being a smaller 1/35th kit it still had enough parts to keep me interested and there wasn’t a single problem in its construction. The instructions were fairly clear, giving different options for the construction of certain parts like the road wheels, but no explanation as to what variant you were building with which option.
This model was also great in its painting. This was the first model I have used Tamiya paints (Acrylic paint) and I really love the way it looks. Using the Tamiya paint really made a difference.
Firstly I airbrushed the lower hull & wheels, added the tracks and joined it to the upper hull. Then I airbrushed the upper hull and turret. Finally I used a fine brush to add the colour to the crew, 50. cal and spare parts at the front of the hull and the around the turret.
This was a great model to build and I would recommend it to anyone who is thinking of getting one.
