The French AMC 34 Light Tank

The French AMC 34 Light Tank

The French AMC 34 Light Tank was designed or the reconnaissance role within the French Mechanised Cavalry units, its weight exceeded its original design estimations, so was underpowered and prone to breakdowns. This resulted in a level of unpopularity within the French Army and only 12 were built by Renault with production ending in 1934, all of which were withdrawn from service by 1939. Different turret layouts and main guns were developed and employed.
