The Russian SPM-3 MRAP

The Russian SPM-3 MRAP was developed for the Russian Ministry of Internal Afairs, under the BTR-VV programme.  It was reportedly evaluated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs for possible acceptance to service in 2010.

It offers an all-round protection against 7.62mm MG fire and has a V-shaped hull  to withstand a 6 kg mine blast under any wheel. NBC protection and automatic fire suppression systems are optional.

The vehicle can be armed with a remotely controlled 12.7-mm machine gun or other weapons. It has a crew of two and accommodates 8 troops. Troops enter and leave the vehicle through the rear doors or roof hatches.
