The AA1 Corporation who produced the HSTV(L) for the US Armies Tank-Automotive Research and Development Command went on to market the vehicle as the RDF/LT around 1983 as an air-transportable tank for Airborne operations. It was offered with a 76mm main gun instead of the original 75mm (which had export restrictions outside of NATO member countries) with a slightly heavier 2 man turret and a diesel engine. It was trialled in South America, but failed to arract any orders and the project ended around the mid 80’s.
