The Russian T-60 Light Tank

The Russian T-60 Light Tank was a hastily rework of the earlier T-40, which had had a number of vulnerabilities in its design high lighted when it went up against German tanks on the Eastern Front.

The T-60 however did not fully rectify these vulnerabilities, such as a main gun incapable of penetrating German armour, its own armour too weak and the vehicle was unable to keep pace with the legendary T-34 medium tank, which it was supposed to keep in front of and act as their reconnaissance. Despite this 6000 were built from 1941 onwards with an up-armoured version in 1942.
