The US T25 Medium Tank was developed to house a 90mm main gun that offered the firepower to defeat the Tiger-I tank following lessons learnt by the Allies in the North African campaign. There were subsequent arguments over the orders, thickness for armour and classification of this 1943 design, which was even proposed with a 76mm main gun.
