Review of the Trumpeter STRV 103B S model tank

This Trumpeter model kit was fairly cheap and it was a pretty easy model to build. The only real disappointment was one that affects most Trumpeter model kits, the suspension arms are thin and loose. The decals went on pretty easily and the instructions were clear to follow, however I would have like to have seen the painting guide printed in colour rather than black and white, so it was easier to match up to Tamiya paints.

The real thing I was looking forward to was the tracks. I noticed that they didn’t have the usual black pads, so I air-brushed them with Tamiya XF-64 (Red brown) and then used Humbrol Enamel metal paint (11) and painted the treads so they looked like they had been worn down and I’m really pleased how it came out.
I airbrushed Tamiya XF-61 (dark green) on to the hull and I brushed Revell enamel 752 (blue) on the sights and 30 & 31 for the indicators and brake lights.
