Short Brothers plc is an Irish aerospace company, usually referred to simply as Shorts, who’s product range includes wheeled APC’s. One of these vehicles, now known as the S600 was first unveiled in 1995. Shorts sold the design and marketing of the vehicle to British Aerospace Australia, who sold their range of wheeled APC’s to Tenix Defence Systems of Australia.
The vehicle is in service with both Kuwait and Belgium. Production runs as when required and can fulfil a number of roles including law enforcement/Barricade clearance, ambulance, 81mm mortar, command post and surveillance.
