The Indian Arjun Armoured Vehicle Launched Bridge aka Arjun BLT (Bridge Layer Tank) has been developed to meet the requirement of a new AVLB system capable of taking the additional weight of the Arjun Tank.

The Indian indigenousness Arjun Tank is much larger and heavier than the Indian licence built T-72 and T-90. This means the existing Indian AVLB’s are not capable of supporting the Arjun tank, so a horizontally launch bridge has been developed on the Arjun tank hull, which is capable of supporting not only the Arjun, but the exsisting T-72 and T-90 MBT fleet. The DRDO website says 12 vehicles have been ordered.
