The US Scout 4×4 Wheeled Reconnaissance Vehicle

The US Scout 4×4 Wheeled Reconnaissance Vehicle was developed as a private venture by the former US Firm Cadillac Gage, who later merged with Textron Marine in 1994 to form the Firm Textron Marine & Land Systems who now manufacturer the vehicle (when required).

It is a member of the Commando Family and is used in the reconnaissance role. It has a swept back sloping front. The engine is up front on the right with the driver on the left. Behind this is a small one man turret operated by a gunner with a Machine Gun for self-Protection. Both crewman can exit via the turret hatch or door in the rear of the vehicle.

First prototype was completed in 1977, Indonesia ordered 28 vehicles in 1983 and Egypt ordered 112 in 1986.
